Technology: Thermal Conductivity

The XTC601 is a binary gas analyzer that uses thermal conductivity analysis to accurately measure the content of one of the components in a binary mixture. The analyzer has a high stability, it is confidence in the measurement results, which is especially important in security systems such as monitoring of CO2 / H2 membranes. The analyzer is supplied with a fixed or floating comparison setting.

The measurement principle of Michell Instruments gas analyzers models XTC601, XTP601, XZR200, XZR400 (hereinafter referred to as gas analyzers):

  • XTC601 - thermoconductometric;
  • XTP601 - thermomagnetic;
  • XZR200, XZR400 - solid state electrochemical, with a zirconium oxide (ZrO2) sensor. The XZR400 uses an MSMR (Metallic Sealed Reference and S Type T / C) sensor with internal reference and thermocouple.

Sampling is forced by means of an external flow stimulator or overpressure at the sampling point for XTC601, XTP601 and XZR400, by means of a built-in flow driver for XZR400 versions RM and TP, diffusion for XZR200.

Gas analyzers are single-channel, single-unit, stationary devices of continuous operation.

The gas analyzers are designed as single-unit ones:

  • XTC601, XTP601 - in a metal case with a screw cover, for wall mounting;
  • XZR200 - in a die-cast aluminum case with a stainless steel probe 210 or 400 mm long, for installation at the sampling point (chimney, ventilation pipe, etc.);
  • XZR400 - in a metal case, in 4 versions: WM - for wall mounting, RM
  • for rack mounting, BM - desktop mounting, TP - transportable (basic modules are the same as WM, but installed in a carrying case).

Gas analyzers model XTC601, XTP601 are produced in 2 versions, general industrial and explosion-proof, designations are as follows:

  • XTC601-GP, XTP601-GP - General Industrial
  • XTC601-EX, XTP601-EX - Explosion Proof.

Gas analyzers models XTC601, XTP601 can be produced in 3 housing versions:

  • XTC601-GP1 (XTC601-EX1), XTP601-GP1 (XTP601-EX1) - housing cover with a window, front panel with display and control keys;
  • XTC601-GP2 (XTC601-EX2), XTP601-GP2 (XTP601-EX2) - housing cover with a window, front panel with status LEDs;
  • XTC601-GP3 (XTC601-EX3), XTP601-GP3 (XTP601-EX3) - housing cover without window, information output only via analog or digital output signal.

Gas analyzers provide output signals:

- readings of the built-in liquid crystal display (if available);

- analog output signal for current (4-20) mA or voltage (0-10) V (one or two, depending on the model);

- digital output signal RS485, Modbus RTU interface (for XTC601, XTP601);

- digital output signal RS232 (for XZR200).

Gas analyzers provide the following basic functions:

- continuous measurement of the content of the determined components;

- display of measurement results on the built-in liquid crystal display (if available);

- continuous comparison of measurement results with preset threshold levels and signaling of reaching preset values ​​(except for XZR200);

- formation of output analog and digital signals (depending on the model);

- formation of output relay output signals of the " dry contact" type (depending on the model);

- communication with a personal computer for configuration and maintenance.

Gas analyzers of versions XTC601-EX, XTP601-EX comply with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union " On the Safety of Equipment for Operation in Explosive Zones" (TR TS 012/2011), made in an explosion-proof design in accordance with GOST R IEC 60079-0-2011, GOST IEC 60079 -1-2011, type of protection " flameproof enclosure" explosion protection marking 1 Ex d IIB + H2 T3 Gb.

In terms of protection from the influence of dust and water, the gas analyzers correspond to the degree of protection according to GOST 14254-96:

-      XTC601, XTP601 IP66;

-      XZR200 IP65;

-      XZR400 IP52.
